This one's for the girls
Okay ladies, many of you are not going to be happy to hear this. But modesty matters. I know the thoughts that go through many of your heads that boys should just control themselves, or maybe just stop being perverted. Right? Well, after talking to many boys and doing some research, I've found that lust is not only common in pedophiles and creeps. It happens to the strong Christian boys and men that many of us know. Guys are meant to be attracted to women, but men are more "physically drawn" then us women are. It is our job as loving sisters in Christ to help keep them pure. By watching what we wear, we are helping these boys that we know and love, keep their focus on what's really important. God. When we go to church dressed in low cut tops, short shorts, or skimpy dresses, we make it difficult for men to truly rest in God's peace. The best way to love our brothers is to dress in a way that is pleasing to God. There are so many videos on modesty on youtube, but I picked a few that tell it like it is. Boys out there are struggling with lust daily, and it's our fault. There's no way around it. I know many times I have gone shopping, looking for something new and cute to wear, but I couldn't find anything that was cute and modest. I remember that for almost my entire life, I just wanted to wear a bikini, like all the other girls. I just wanted to fit in, and be "normal". But after thinking long and hard about it, I realized that if I wouldn't go out of the house in my under garments, then why would I allow my body to be so exposed as to wear a bikini. By wearing items of clothing that reveal so much of my body I am hurting the boys that I am called to love. I am causing them to sin. Causing them to stumble, and turn from our God. I finally realized why my parents didn't allow us to wear those items of clothing, and decided for myself to refrain from buying one. No matter how "cute" it is. So, anyways...that's my rant on modesty. I am definitely open to a discussion on this topic. But there are some videos here that I think are really important to watch. I know one is super duper long, but it's worth watching. Trust me.
